Group Grief Support Sessions

Group Grief Support Sessions

Many people tell us, "I thought I was the only one who felt this way-until I sat in the circle." Our Group Grief Support Sessions grew out of that moment when eyes meet across the room and someone realizes, often with tears of relief, "They understand."

These gatherings are gently facilitated spaces where you can bring your whole self-questions, doubts, memories, and all. We begin with simple introductions and a grounding reflection, often drawing from Psalm 23 or another passage of comfort, then open the floor for honest sharing. No one is forced to speak. Some sit quietly for weeks, just listening, and that is perfectly alright. Healing often begins simply by being in the presence of others who "get it."

As a chaplain and certified grief counselor, we guide the conversation so it remains safe, respectful, and anchored in hope. You may hear how others handle sleepless nights, anniversaries, or waves of anger that seem to come out of nowhere. In that shared wisdom, you discover new ways to face your own days and nights. Group members often say that the room becomes a kind of family, where tears are welcome and laughter is not a betrayal, but a sign that love is still alive.

Alongside these core groups, we also offer other forms of group grief sessions throughout the year, such as seasonal gatherings or topic-focused circles. Each is designed to remind you that while grief is deeply personal, it does not have to be endured in isolation.

If you are weary of carrying your sorrow alone, consider taking a seat in the circle. You may find that in listening to others, you begin to hear your own heart more clearly-and in time, to sense God's quiet presence holding you all.
